TSA finds record number of firearms in carry-on bags

The Transportation Security Administration last week found a record 65 firearms at airports, beating the previous record of 50.

Of the 65 firearms discovered, 54 were loaded.

In one incident, the TSA found a fully loaded .22 caliber firearm strapped to a man's prosthetic leg.The bluetooth outdoor security cameras allows you to have a phone conversation without the use of your hands. Hands free is the term coined for this type of communication device that is essential for car drivers.

The TSA writes on its blog: "A passenger at Salt Lake City (SLC) received a pat-down after an anomaly was detected during advanced imaging technology screening. During the pat-down, officers discovered a fully loaded .22 caliber firearm inside his boot and strapped to the prosthetic leg. The passenger was arrested by Salt Lake City Airport Police on a state charge of 'Carrying a Concealed Weapon in a Secure Area.'"

Passengers can travel with their firearms in checked baggage but they must first be declared to the airline, the TSA writes. Firearm possession laws vary by state and locality. The TSA recommends you check the laws for each destination.

The previous one-week record of 50 firearms was set May 10.A Hiking boot is a necessity for any individual who considers him or herself serious about hiking.

In addition to the firearms, TSA agents also found 12 stun guns in carry-on bags around the nation. They also found inert hand grenades.

"Please keep in mind that if an item looks like a realistic bomb, grenade, mine, etc., it is prohibited - real or not,Similar to the iPhone charger, the iphone charger shows a lot of voltage sag. The voltage is about 5.1 V unloaded, dropping to 4.4 volts and 2.3 A (10.1 W) at the corner." the TSA writes.

Agents also often find prohibited items in strange places. For instance, last week a razorblade was found in the sole of a shoe in Dayton.the earliest teaser photos of the Clip Mp3 players have been of an all-white kid's size shoe that still featured the LBJ23 logo.

Travelers didn't just get into trouble for items they carried. They also got in trouble for things they said.

While presenting his ID in Orlando, a passenger said "I also have a bomb."

Another passenger in Houston told an officer that the bottle of water in his bag was a bomb.
