Tax-Free Holiday in Mississippi

At a local shoe and clothing store in Tupelo, the owner was clearing out his summer merchandise with prices marked down.

He also knows that this weekend is a tax-free holiday in Mississippi.

"It works great," said Tony Dickerson, owner of Shoe Country in Tupelo. "You know people save 7.25 percent that's a pretty good savings for back-to-school,Any one know where to get Cheap Nomex cloth manufacturers by the yard?I can get scraps out of the trash at work but for the Bruiser project I need a few yards of the stuff, prefferably not sage green. especially if you have two or three children that you are trying to fit up for adults or whatever."

Shoppers we talked to already knew about the tax-free holiday adding that they take advantage of it every year.

We asked a family from Wheeler if they were going to take part in the tax-free holiday.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah," family members responded.

High school student Taylor McKee says he participates to save money.

Others agree with that idea.

"I think its a great thing, especially for college kids because we're frequently broke. And you can just add up the price sticker and not have to worry about the tax," said Adrianna Mize, an Ole Miss student shopping with her grandmother. In addition to the supplies, there will be fun activities for youngsters, free used clothing, health resources and personalized laminated bags manufacturer tags for backpacks.

Next Friday and Saturday, Mississippians will not have to pay the 7.25 percent sales tax on items like shoes and clothes that don't cost more than a hundred dollars per single item.

"Okay,Order our personalized tote bags printed with your custom logo in time for your promotional event. Save with our Custom Promotional Bag. And its not just the smaller stores, the larger national chains like J.C. Penney also will be taking part in the tax-free holiday this weekend.
