Meet some characters from the 2013 ride

At the top of the Fremont Bridge, the roadway bounces and sways like a massive concrete trampoline.

Almost every other morning of the year, this high-altitude bobbing goes unnoticed by motorists hurtling across the 40-year-old bridge in their cars. But starting before dawn Sunday, hiking boots sale On Sale - Shop our selection of Hiking Boots On Sale,www.qdgoutdoor.com. many of the estimated 18,000 bicyclists and walkers participating in the 18th annual Providence Bridge Pedal got to experience the phenomenon up close and personal.Wholesale A4 Inkjet Canvas from China A4 Inkjet Canvas Wholesalers about Wholesale Office & School Supplies.cheap A4 Inkjet Canvas

The Bridge Pedal is the world's third-largest community bike ride, with courses ranging from 13 to 36 miles and allowing car-free crossing of nearly every Willamette River bridge in Portland, including two freeway bridges -- the Marquam and the Fremont -- normally barred to bicyclists and pedestrians.

Despite overcast skies, the event, which donates a portion of proceeds to the Providence Heart and Vascular Institute's PlaySmart program, continued its 18-year rain-free streak. Standing near the top of the Fremont Bridge, The Oregonian chatted with some participants.

For many riders, the Bridge Pedal is as much about the fashion show as it is about the ride.

Audrey DeCoursey, 31, for example, tricked out her Specialized bike with a shaggy brown wool seat.

"This was a gift from a friend, a cousin who lives on a sheep farm in Kansas," said DeCoursey, a Southeast Portland pastor.Manufacturer in China, Wholesale Eco-solvent Inkjet Canvas, ECO Solvent inkjet canvas - Glossy and waterproof inkjet canvas. "I probably met the sheep before it met its fate," she said of her seat. "It lived a good life on that farm, and now it's serving me well here."
