Vintage fashion for sale

Cliff Stephens, 61, doesn't consider himself much of a fashionista.

So when the Te Atatu man began cleaning out his late mother Hazel May Stephens' home three weeks ago he had no idea what a treasure trove he had uncovered.

Known as May to her friends and family, Mrs Stephens had collected textiles, clothes, antiques and furniture for most of her life.Fashion Sunglasses for Women from www.hbsglasses.com at reasonable price.

Always the resourceful type Mrs Stephens held on to everything she ever owned for a rainy day.

A jack-of-all-trades she rented out her home to boarders to make extra money, gardened and fixed things around the home, and was adept at sewing and making clothes.

It was her love of fashion that saw her collect more than 1000 pieces of clothing over the course of her 85 years.

Among the relics Mr Stephens and a team of helpers found in her Glen Eden home were antique jewellery,We are a leading High Glossy Inkjet Canvas Manufacturers and Suppliers having a full range of High Glossy Inkjet Canvas Products to cater for all needs. leather shoes, hats,Wholesale Classical sunglasses, you can buy high quality classical sunglasses from manufacturers in china handbags and clothing including pinafores, sun dresses, two-piece suits, slacks, waistcoats and petticoats from every decade since the 1940s.

Although she was a fan of all things beautiful, Mrs Stephens never wore most of the items, instead preferring to do her household chores in her pinafore or sun dresses.

With everything in immaculate condition and the Captain Scott Rd home about to be demolished, Mr Stephens is selling all the vintage items this weekend.

Although he suspects his mother would be disappointed to say goodbye to her garments, particularly the shoes, Mr Stephens says she would have wanted someone else to enjoy them.

Despite the sizeable collection he says his mother's reluctance to throw anything away was symptomatic of a post-war society.

"A lot of people in her era never chucked anything away. She just collected more than she needed because she was saving it for a rainy day. It was probably a comfort to her," he says.New additions to their line-up include the Mercury Ultra White Matt 405gsm the Best Inkjet Canvas Suppliers, 5-metre-length inkjet trial rolls of the PermaJet Oyster 271gsm and Ultra Pearl 295gsm media, an all-new Image Block Print Display System, a range of fast drying canvas protective varnishes in 2.5-litre cans, an anti-curl roller device and more.

About 1000 vintage clothing items starting from $5 will be sold on Saturday and Sunday at 1 Rangiwai Rd, Titirangi, 10am till 2pm.
